- Mobile EditionRaymond Nolan Gallegos died of a heart attack Saturday, March 6, 2010, at Mercy Regional Medical Center. He was 58.
Mr. Gallegos was born Jan. 28, 1952, to Victor and Josie Gallegos in Ogden, Utah. He grew up in Mancos and graduated from Mancos High School.
Mr. Gallegos was a professional house painter.
He loved music and played guitar in a band with his brother. They made a record in the 1960s. He also enjoyed fishing and spending time outside with family and friends.
Mr. Gallegos was preceded in death by his wife, Wanda Gallegos.
He is survived by his daughters Briana Gallegos of Mancos and Tasha Gallegos of Aurora; sons Jermaine Gallegos of Farmington and Wolfie Gallegos of Albuquerque; father, Victor Gallegos, of Mancos; brothers Eugene Gallegos of Durango, Larry Gallegos of Farmington and Victor Gallegos of Grand Junction; sister, Debbie Hull, of Ignacio; four grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews.
Cremation will occur. A funeral will be held at 2 p.m. Thursday, March 11, 2010, at Hood Mortuary Chapel. The Rev. Rick Gregory and family members will officiate. Visitation will be held before and after the service, also at Hood.
